So Inhabitants is coming out at the end of this month, how long have you been working on that part?
well since i was added to the team in spring of 2006 ive been working on the part but 80 percent of the footage in my part is from the last 8 months cause shortly after i got on the team i got surgery on my ankle because it kept twisting everytime id skate
What was up with your ankle?
it was super weak from hurting it so much it would just give out everytime id skate
Must have been pretty mangled to need surgery.
yeah some ligaments or something were torn off the bone but its feeling better now so im gratefull for that
You're smart to get that taken care of early on.
It seems like you have been away from Houston a lot over the past year or so. What places did you go with habitat to film?
yeah ive been out of houston a lot it feels nice to come home and take it easy and see all my friends and stuff. yeah got to see a bunch of new places in the last couple months.... croatia, austria, italy, slovenia, and some others i cant remember off the top of my head.
I'm sure most of us can't find some of those countries on a map.
Were the countries like Croatia and Slovenia worth going for spots or did you just end up chilling while you where there?
i personnaly liked croatia a lot. the spots were limited but the ones we skated were super fun. in slovenia there was one amazing spot but it ended up being a world war 2 memorial so the police nearly had a stroke when they saw us "stupid foreigners" skating on it.
Sounds like there will be a lot of spots in the video that no one has seen which is always a good thing.
yeah theres some pretty cool spots you've probably seen a majority of them though.
You got any advice for those people who travel to the countries to find some of these spots, like which country to pack a switch blade to or how much money to keep on you to pay off the police?
well it was pretty mellow everywhere ive been but in all countries there is definetly sketchy people like gypsies and stuff so basically id say to watch your back when your in sketchy areas epsecially camera equipment. and yeah maybe a little cash to give to a cop if your skating somewhere you shouldnt be.
Take notes on that last one kids. Inhabitants has to be pretty close to being finished now; I know you have seen a lot of the footage, how is Castrucci going to pick a last part with a line up like Habitat has?
He said hes gonna draw straws.
I wouldn't be surprised if it came down to something like that.
Anything else you want add to finish this interview? Maybe a shout out to your doctor, or mention that we didn't ask anything about your hair?
Yeah i wanna give a shout out to my favorite acupunturist, and chris goulet and collective skateshop, habitat, earth, satori, dvs shoes.
